Blues on Franklin is a family owned & operated BBQ smokehouse located in the historic Pure Oil & Gas Building in downtown Chapel Hill, one of the first gas stations in the country.
Our BBQ is done the old fashioned way — seasoned pork shoulders smoked low ‘n slow over Hickory logs.
Blues has a one of a kind location & atmosphere, with large indoor & outdoor seating areas right on Franklin.
We have a full bar custom made by football greats Ken Huff & Ted Elkins, a competition sized pool table, a foosball table, & more TV’s than you can count!! The outdoor area is shaded & dog friendly with a large outdoor bar & TV’s. It’s the perfect location for parties, games & special events.

We were gathering before a home game in Kenan Stadium, & we couldn’t have picked a better place for our pre-game festivities. We plan to return often as this is a great spot for mouth-watering BBQ in a friendly ‘Smokehouse & Sports Bar’ atmosphere!
