The Turkey National Team has a strong European pedigree, with historic performances in tournaments such as Euro 2008, where they reached the semifinals in dramatic fashion. Turkish clubs also have a legacy in European club competitions, particularly Galatasaray, the first Turkish team to win a major UEFA trophy.

Chapel Hill is turning up the heat this summer as the Mexican Men’s National Soccer Team makes its long-awaited debut in the city for the 2025 MexTour!

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Kenan Memorial Stadium will transform into a roaring cauldron of international competition as Mexico faces Turkey in a first-time clash of two passionate soccer nations.

This isn’t just a match—it’s a festival of futbol. Kenan Memorial Stadium, best known for hosting UNC’s storied football program, will take on a whole new life as it welcomes 50,000 fans, electrified by the sights, sounds, and energy of the global game. Whether you’re a die-hard El Tri supporter, waving the Mexican flag in the stands, or backing Turkey with your heart on your sleeve, Chapel Hill is THE place to be this June.
