The Jane Austen Summer Program is pleased to announce its next symposium — “Austen & Shakespeare” — June 16-19, 2022, at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Carrboro, N.C., and at various locations on the University of North Carolina campus in Chapel Hill. This year’s conference explores the influences and the legacies of the two beloved authors, centering on "Mansfield Park," "All's Well That Ends Well" and "King Lear." Speakers include: food historian and stylist Dan Macey on Elizabethan and Regency food traditions; UNC professor Mary Floyd-Wilson on dispositions in Shakespeare and Austen, and UNC professor Pamela Bond on the laws of dress.
