The sounds of American Blues and Roots Music will be rocking in Downtown Hillsborough as the Annual Picnic in the Park concert returns. Produced by The Alliance for Historic Hillsborough and Music Maker Relief Foundation, the free concert features four musical acts, food trucks, community vendors and more. It will take place at the Farmers Market Pavilion at River Park. Intended to create accessibility to authentic American music, family fun, and small-town community during Independence Day weekend, the event is free and open to the public. First up at 11am is Lightnin’ Wells at noon, gospel tunes by The Dedicated Men of Zion. At 1pm, Harvey Dalton Arnold will play his finger-picking style of blues. And at 2pm, Alabama Slim will close out the show with his brand of Juke Joint Blues. The event will also include community vendors and food from the food trucks Taco Grande, American Meltdown, a Loco Pops.
