The Hillsborough Handmade Parade is a grass roots community participation celebration sponsored and organized by the volunteers at the Hillsborough Arts Council. Starting with public workshops it culminates in a Mardi Gras style street parade, completely created by the community, with wild costumes, giant puppets, stilt-walkers, marching bands and much more. On October 15th, 2016 the parade will begin at 2:30 at the Town Hall at 101 East Orange Street and will end at Cameron Park. The entrance is at the corner of East King and Cameron Street. There will be a grand finale at Cameron Park with bands, food, a drum circle and an opportunity to enjoy all the amazing puppets. Theme for 2016 Hillsborough Handmade Parade: WALK OF THE WILD THINGS!
