New Revolutionary War History in NC with Acclaimed Scholar, Randall Jones. The Battle of Kings Mountain on Oct. 7, 1780 was the “turning of the tide” in the American Revolution in the South. Although this battle is most associated with Overmountain Men crossing the Appalachians to pursue the arrogant British Major Patrick Ferguson through the farther west piedmont, a new Kings Mountain story can now be told; it begins and ends in Hillsborough. Hillsborough’s connection to the patriot cause is special enough, but new heroes and new history can now be claimed here. Come hear this exciting new Kings Mountain history on Feb. 4, then join in Revolutionary War Living History Day, Feb. 15.
