Frey Lecture: Kip Thorne

Theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate Kip Thorne will be the 2019 Frey Foundation Distinguished Visiting Professor and deliver a free lecture in Memorial Hall on Thursday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m. The lecture is titled “My Romance with the Warped Side of the Universe: From black holes and wormholes to time travel and gravitational waves.” Thorne was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2017 for his work with Rainer Weiss and Barry C. Barish in gravitational waves. Thorne was also executive producer on Christopher Nolan’s film Interstellar, where he served as a scientific consultant.
