"Fiery, wild and dangerous" - thus did one reviewer comment on the skills of baroque soprano Margaret Carpenter Haigh, a rising star in early baroque music. Margaret is joined in this concert by William Simms, theorbo; Barbara Krumdieck, baroque cello; and Beverley Biggs harpsichord. The concert also features beloved soprano Florence Peacock. The riveting musical repertoire includes works by Barbara Strozzi. Virgilio Mazzocchi  and Claudio Monteverdi.

Handel to Haydn October 9, 2016  3:00 PM

Brilliant compositions for two harpsichords, from late-baroque Handel to early-classical Haydn. Music includes works by three sons of Bach: Johann Christian (the London Bach); J.C.F. (youngest of Johann Sebastian’s composer sons); and Wilhelm Friedemann (the eldest) whose two-harpsichord sonata is simply stunning. Harpsichordists Beverly Biggs & Elaine Funaro enjoy a ten-year history as duo harpsichordists, which includes regional performances, touring with baroque programs, and world and national premieres of new works.
