Join the Mayor and community leaders for the 11th annual Community Reading of Frederick Douglass' essay, “The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro.” This essay reflects a sobering point of view about what is commonly considered to be America's Independence Day and is part of the history of this country that should be recognized and remembered. The reading will occur in the Carrboro Century Center's Century Hall at 12:00pm.
