For close to 30 years, the North Carolina Botanical Garden, Chapel Hill, has been pleased to present Sculpture in the Garden, a juried outdoor sculpture event showcasing works of North Carolina sculptors and highlighting the natural interplay between fine art and garden finery. Now in its 29th year, Sculpture in the Garden will display over 40 large and small-scale works in an assortment of materials including steel, concrete, wood, ceramic and marble from more than 25 sculptors. Visitors can enjoy the relationships between art and nature during NCBG’s autumn display throughout five acres of the Garden’s outdoor environment. This year’s show runs Sept 17 through Dec 10. The Preview Party scheduled for Sat, Sept 16 from 4:30-6:30pm gives ticket holders an opportunity to enjoy the gardens, get first view and purchase sculptures, meet participating artists, and enjoy beverages and hors d’oeuvres. Guests can also cast a vote for the People’s Choice award. A jurist will announce selections for Best in Show and People’s Choice Award.
