Pumpkin Party at Kidzu! Oct 21 at 3:30pm – 4:45 pm. ‘Orange’ you pumped for Halloween? Scoop out pumpkins, roast pumpkin seeds, and play new pumpkin games! “Not-so-scary” costumes are encouraged. Event categories are 2yrs to 5yrs and 5yrs to 9 yrs. $10 admission fee. Drop-off childcare is available for an additional $5 per child. Haunted H.A.C. at the Homestead Aquatics Center (300 Northern Park Drive) on Saturday, October 22nd at 5:00pm. The event features a Trunk-or-Treat, games, ghost stories, food trucks, a costume parade and a Spooktacular Swim and Dive in Movie – The Addams Family (PG). Plan to lounge about in the pool or on the pool deck. Bring your own chair, floats or blanket, to make your lounge space comfortable. This event is open to all ages and is free. The Trunk-or Treat portion of the evening will end at 6:30pm with the Dive In Movie beginning at 6:30pm
The 2016 McKee's Cornfield Maze is open through Oct 30 plus the Haunted Trail and Cornfield Maze on Oct 22, 28, and 29. The Maze hours of operation are Fri 3 pm-8 pm, Sat 10 am-8 pm and Sun 1-7 pm. The Haunted Maze hours are 6 pm - 10 pm. On these days the regular maze closes at 6 pm. Cornfield Maze admission is $11, with Haunted Maze at $12 ages 3 - adult and children ages 0-2 Free. McKee Cornfield Maze is at 5011 Kiger Road in Rougemont.
Music and Stories Under the Stars on the lawn of Weaver Street Market in Carrboro Oct 28 from 5 pm - 7:30 pm. This annual free event features stories, spooky music, Halloween treats, and a costume contest and is co-sponsored by the town of Carrboro. Bring the whole family.

The annual Spirits of Hillsborough tour will be held on Friday Oct 28 and Saturday Oct 29. Friday tours every 20 min: 8pm, 8:20pm, and 8:40 Saturday tours every 20 min: 5 - 8:40 This fun and dramatic walking tour will bring you face-to-face with Hillsborough's past with help from the Orange Community Players. Groups will depart from the Hillsborough Visitors Center (150 E. King St.) every twenty minutes. Tours last approximately one hour. Advance tickets: $5 for children under 12; $12 for adults. Come learn about stars, constellations and celestial events through legends from ancient cultures, featuring monsters, mayhem and madness at the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center's annual Scare-olina Skies. Explore the dark legends behind the constellations in this Halloween version of the "Carolina Skies". The adult and older teens version is Friday Oct 28 at 8 pm. A milder family version of the show perfect choice for families with elementary school-age children is Sunday Oct 30 at 3:30 pm. Regular ticket prices apply for both versions. Spooky Movie Night Oct 29, 6:30 pm. Bring your blanket to Century Hall for a fun "spooky" movie night! The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Children under 12 will not be admitted without a parent or guardian present. Limited concessions will be for sale (cash only). Tiger Chill Community Carnival Oct 29 11am – 3pm. Mark your calendars for some “spooktacular” fun at Chapel Hill High School’s Tiger CHill Carnival. The 5th annual Tiger Chill will feature food, games, hands-on craft activities and entertainment for the whole family. Test your skills at carnival games sponsored by student clubs including, cake walks, face painting, robot driving and dodgeball. Enjoy performances by middle school bands, and Irish dancers and “garage bands”. The carnival will feature a dunk tank, a high striker hammer game, several new inflatables, and a (not so scary) haunted house. Dress in your Halloween costume and join the parade at noon. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume! Come hungry! There will be something for every appetite including barbecue sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, corn-on-the cob and an assortment of homemade international cuisine. Save room for dessert, homemade baked goods and a Candy Land booth will satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. Admission is free. Tickets for games, food and activities will be sold at the carnival’s entrance. The money raised by the carnival will fund activities for CHHS.
The boogeyman returns to The Myers House NC this Halloween for the 8th Annual Halloween Bash on Saturday, October 29th at 6:30 pm! There will be movies, bonfires, special guests, food trucks, jack-o-lanterns, tricks, treats, contests & MORE! Everyone is encouraged to come dressed up in costume, but it is not required to attend. Tickets are $7 for the event which is open to the public and an additional $5 to tour The Myers House NC, a life-size replica of the infamous Michael Myers house from John Carpenter’s classic horror film HALLOWEEN. (No pets and no children under 12 admitted)
The Carrboro Halloween Carnival on Oct. 31 at the Town Commons is 6 pm - 8:30 pm. The day begins with a Pumpkin Carving Contest for all ages. Early drop off is 9:30 am - 3 pm and then vote for the winner during the carnival. Come enjoy the night and experience a host of carnival style activities that reward your participation with wickedly good prizes. Popcorn, sodas, hot chocolate, apple cider & coffee will be sold at the concession booth. No Registration Required. Event is Free. The event is hosted by Carrboro Recreation & Parks (919) 918-7364
