Gala Book Launch and Signing by Chapel Hil Food Lover’s Guide Moreton Neal

CHAPEL HILL, NC – (November 20, 2009) – A Southern Season will host a gala book launch and signing Sunday, Dec. 6, 6-9pm in celebration of the release of the Chapel Hill Food Lover’s Guide with Carrboro and Hillsborough by Moreton Neal. Come sip, taste and mingle with the local “foodies” who made the book possible. The gala is co-sponsored by The Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau.

10% of store sales, including book sales, during the Gala will be donated to Eastern NC Food Bank, Stop Hunger Now, and Orange Congregations in Mission. A Southern Season, who plans stay open an additional 3 hours past their regular 6pm Sunday closing, holds an exclusive on the book in Orange County from December 6-December 24.

The food editor of Raleigh Metro magazine, Moreton Neal covers the Triangle’s area cuisine scene for her monthly column. She owned and managed Chapel Hill’s Restaurant La Residence until 1992. She produced and co-hosted Durham’s popular radio talk shows, “Food Forum” and “Better Living.” Her cookbook/ memoir, Remembering Bill Neal: A Life in Cooking was published by UNC Press.

Neal’s 84-page guide to dining in Orange County was illustrated by Chapel Hill artist Laura Frankstone and designed by Gwendolen Gray.
