Chapel Hill (June 18, 2008) – The Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau won a Platinum Hermes Creative Award for its 2008 Visitors Guide and a Gold Hermes Creative Award for its website http://www.visitchapelhill.org.
Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and free-lance professionals. The international organization began in 1995 as a means to honor outstanding achievement and service to the communication profession. The 2008 competition received 4,000 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries.
“Our communications team is proud of this recognition,” said Laurie Paolicelli, Executive Director for the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau. “This acknowledgment reflects the quality of our tourism efforts and the outstanding group of individuals who work on the marketing team.”
The mission of the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau is to develop and coordinate visitor services in Orange County and to implement marketing programs that will enhance the economic activity and quality of life in the community. The Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau is fully funded by hotel occupancy taxes paid by visitors.
