Franklin Street Rocks

March 18 2009 by Dale Chodorow

When we visit Chapel Hill to see family, we love to hang out on Franklin Street. Every year, it looks a little different, but still feels the same. Our new favorite shop is Sugarland in the heart of downtown, near the entrance to campus. They have outdoor seating and gelato, cupcakes and coffee. It was named after a small town near Houston, Texas. There’s a great shop next door with lots of accessories and art and clothes. And we love to buy souvenirs. One night, we stayed there all day and worked on our laptops and then walked across the street and ducked into a movie at the Varsity Theater.
