I cannot think of a better place to call home then Chapel Hill. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved this town for its acceptance, unity, and its love for the Carolina Tar Heels. I think back to when I was a little girl going to Carolina basketball games and being surrounded by such a diverse group of people with one common goal: to win. Race, ethnicity, gender, and age were irrelevant; all that mattered was who you were cheering for. I quickly realized that this welcoming atmosphere was a product of our town’s values and went far beyond the basketball stadium.
Now, as a senior at Carolina, I realize how fortunate I am to have had the opportunity to attend such a great school in such an amazing town. Franklin Street offers such a variety of shops and entertainment that there is little need to travel elsewhere. Whether you feel like grabbing a burger at the legendary Sutton’s, shopping with your friends at one of the boutiques, curling up with a latte at Jack Sprat’s, or celebrating a Carolina victory at Top of the Hill, there is always something to do. I truly believe that Chapel Hill is heaven on earth, and I wouldn’t trade my experiences here for anything.
