• In June 2009, the restaurant received its official LEED certification, the first stand-alone restaurant in North Carolina to be recognized. In fact, the store is only the second LEED-certified store in the entire Subway Sandwich system, which totals more than 30,000 stores, including some 740 in the state. (LEED is a third-party certification program for the design, construction and operation of high-performance “green” buildings.)
