Triangle Jazz Orchestra Night Concert - CANCELLED
If you've ever walked in The ArtsCenter on a Wednesday night you've heard an awesome 17-piece band rehearsing in the Earl & Rhonda Wynn Theater. They're the Triangle Jazz Orchestra, now opening rehearsals the first Wednesday of each month to listeners and swing dancers alike. The Orchestra is composed of enthusiatic musicians from across the Triangle. Their hero, a wandering young girl, finds herself in a mysterious library that is being consumed by a rising sea of information. Soon she is afloat, on a paper boat, with a goat heading toward an adventure full of animals and beasts, mustachioed men and pirates, monsters, furies, and even gods.
Don't miss this 11th annual giant summer puppet production featuring Giant puppets, masks, stilts, painted cardboard, and shadows all set to live music! All shows are for all ages and start at 7 pm with a different pre-show each ight at 6:20 pm. General admission, no advanced ticket sales. Artist of the month for August is Niki de Saint-Phalle. Program is held 10:30-11:15am every Saturday for kids ages 3-8 years old and their caregivers.
