Scrapel Hill Art—local artist’s unique celebration of recycling—is a competition and exhibit being hosted by University Mall on Estes Drive in Chapel Hill, through June 30th. For the project—which is a visual treat for all visitors—art must be made from items that are typically thrown away. One example is Jim Kellough’s “Sandwich Island,” which uses “found” objects from the shed, attic and basement. Viewers of the exhibit may vote for their favorite piece of art and the winner will receive cash and prizes.
