This special event features a daylong series of offerings suited for all. It’s a special summer series held on the second Saturday of the month from June through September. Visitors and residents of all ages discover and participate in a variety of activities, and enjoy exploring the many sites and attractions found in the heart of Orange County.
Each Family Fun Day, includes guided tours, children’s activities and scavenger hunt, artisan demonstrations at the blacksmith shop at the Shops at Daniel Boone Village, a farmers’ market, shopping, and dining. A calendar of events and map will be available at the Orange County Visitor Center, 150 E. King St. from 10am-4pm.
On September 12, the Orange County Historical Museum and Burwell School Historic Site will host Colonial Kids Day. From 1pm-4:30pm, children can participate in colonial games, a fashion show, and a lemonade party. They can learn about colonial medicine and watch a weaving demonstration. The museum is located at 201 N. Churton St and the cost for Colonial Kids Day is $4. Advanced registration is encouraged. There is a limit amount of participants, so reserve your tickets today!
