Located in McDougle Middle School, the Carrboro Branch offers a broad selection of circulating materials for children and adults including books, audiobooks, DVDs, and magazines. To support its diverse community , the library also offers a collection of foreign language materials for the Spanish-speaking and Karen populations. In addition, the library provides access to computers, printing, and wireless internet.

Chapel Hill Public Library is beginning a year plus expansion of the building on Library Drive. It is closing on September 23, 2011 and will be temporarily relocated to the University Mall during the construction expansion project. The library is expected to reopen next to Cameron’s, close to Dillard’s, in the University Mall at 201 S. Estes Drive in early October 2011. The construction project to expand the library is expected to be completed in December 2012.
