PlayMakers has been North Carolina’s premier resident professional theatre company for more than 30 years. Six mainstage plays are performed from Sep to Apr in the Paul Green Theatre—from reimagined classics to the best new American and British works, plus three plays in the innovative PRCs2 second-stage series in the Elizabeth Price Kenan Theatre. Performances are Tue-Sun, 8pm; and Sun, 2pm. Ticket prices, $10-$40, depending on event (discounts for students and seniors). Parking.

This is the first building on campus to be named for an African-American and is one of the preeminent centers in the nation for the critical examination of African and African-American diaspora cultures. Sponsors a variety of instrumental and vocal concerts throughout the school year, including the William S. Newman Artists Series (which showcases classical music performed by distinguished instrumental and vocal musicians) and the annual Carolina Jazz Festival. Concerts are held in Hill, Memorial and Person Halls on the UNC campus. Except for the Newman series, most performances are free. Call for a free concert calendar. No credit cards are accepted.
